That Noise is Too Loud! Sensory Processing Challenges in the Preschool Classroom
Does it feel like your classroom is full of an ever-increasing number of individual and unique behaviors that obstruct learning? All humans have sensory preferences, but when those preferences become fixed needs and those needs result in disruptive behaviors, they become difficult to manage in the classroom - especially when there are several conflicting needs happening all at once! We’ll start with a brief overview of how sensory processing works in the human brain, and we’ll move quickly to explore useful strategies for managing challenging classroom behaviors related to sensory processing. This workshop will be a combination of lecture and hands-on activities.
